Paneer Tikka

Paneer Tikka is Spicy tangy popular snack for anytime .Hearing paneer tikka looks like tikki(cutlet) made of panner but its mouthwatering snack ,is crispy and crunchy everyone loves everywhere. My love for paneer tikka is for its tangy flavor and smoky smell. Easy to make whenever you want to eat something spicy or tangy.

Ingredients:

For Tikka

  • 2 cup paneer
  • 1 cup tomatoes 
  • 1 cup bell pepper(capsicum)
  • 1 medium onion 
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp coriander leaves

For marinade

  • 1/2 cup think curd (Greek yogurt)
  • 1/2 tsp ginger garlic paste
  • 1/2 tsp red chili powder(kasmiri lal mirch powder)
  • 1/2 tsp gram flour
  • 1/2 tsp garam masala 
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • 1/2 tsp chat masala powder
  • 1 tbsp oil
  • 1 tsp kasuri methi
  • salt to taste
  • wooden Skewer (soaked in water for 15 mins)

Instructions:

  • Mix curd,salt, chili powder,coriander powder, chat masala powder, garam masala powder, ginger garlic paste in a bowl and mix well.
  • Marinade is ready.
  • Cut cut tomato in half and remove seeds and tomato juice aside and cut into 1 inch chunks.
  • Cut Bell Pepper and onion  into 1 inch chunks also, cut panner in 1 inch cubes. it should be of same size otherwise won’t cook evenly.
  • Add Paneer cubes, onions,bell pepper, tomatoes to marinate.
  • Mix gently with marinade and cover it with lip or warp and place in refrigerator for around 30 mins.
  • After 30 mins, take out marinate out of fridge .
  • Skewer paneer cubes alternating with onions, bell pepper and tomato . put it in plate and place back in fridge for 5 mins

we have 2 option for paneer tikka to cook.

  1. In Oven
  2. In pan

In oven:

  • Preheat oven at 220 C or 430 F for 10 mins.
  • Place a cooling rack over a roasting pan .
  • Place the skewers on the cooling rack and bake for 15 minutes, turning once half way and after 15 minutes, switch on the grilles option and grill for 2-3 minutes more till the paneer color slight change to brown.
  • remove Roasting pan from oven and place skewers with panner tikka on serving platter.
  • Top with chopped coriander and squeeze lemon juice serve hot.

In pan:

  • heat 1 tbsp oil in pan or griddle and Place the skewers on pan and cook from both side  on low medium flame for 5-7 mins until it turn brown 
  • remove skewers  from pan and place panner tikka on serving platter.
  • Top with chopped coriander and squeeze lemon juice serve hot.
